Security
In case of accidents you do not pay insurance excess fees because our cars are fully insured. For safety reasons, during your first lessons and only until you start to handle the car properly, our instructors will drive you to/from a safe location. Booking is strictly on a first come first served basis so kindly book ahead to avoid long gaps from one lesson to another. Double lessons are also available.
Documentation
Before starting to drive on the road you need to obtain the learner's permit. We will supply all necessary documents on your first lesson. Please look at the following sample application for more details. You will also need a passport size photo and your identity card. If you already possess a motorcycle license please bring it as well.

The Driving Test
Usually our Driving Test is held on a Thursday and by 08:30 you should be boasting with your new driving license. We do pick you up before your driving test and we drive you back home or to your destination. Make sure to bring your Identity Card and Lm20.00 for your 10 year driving license document.
The Maltese driving test consists of three parts, reverse, road driving and Highway Code.
Approximately 10% fail the reversing part mainly due to the excitement and tension that many students suffer before the test commences. We can only suggest you stay calm and relax as mush as possible so you can concentrate and prove the examiners that you are able to drive. Please note that the examiners have no quota to pass or fail students, they do not attempt to trick you to fail. Their main objective is to ensure that you can handle and control the car safely and according to the examination's requirements.

Looking for a Driving Instructor
You should use a
fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor who is registered with the Licensing
and Testing Department. Only an licensed driving instructor is
legally allowed to charge for a driving lesson.
OK, but how do you
choose?

Ask
friends and relatives to recommend if possible. |

Look
for an instructor who conducts himself or herself in a professional manner. |
|
Choose
an instructor who has a good reputation and whose car suits you. |
|
A clean car and tidy instructor is usually a sign they take pride in their work. |
|
Full
time instructors depend on your custom not like part-time instructors whose
earnings come from their full time job. |
But be warned......
Do not go in search of the cheapest
driving lessons, what you are looking for is value for money. Low cost driving
lessons often work out more expensive over a period of time - would you buy the
cheapest car you could find?
Would you go to the cheapest, un-experienced doctor around and trust your life in his hands? You are trusting your life and future in your driving instructor, so choose wisely. Think twice about paying lessons in advance with an instructor you have not met - a 'trial' lesson might be a good idea.
There is a
Lm10.00 fee by the Licensing & Testing Department to change your driving
school/instructor, so be sure before submitting your application to the
Department.
